My most recent work consists of what I call “sculpture pictures” which are a combination of literal objects and representation. The physical pieces – made from ink and paper – represent archetypical elements from everyday Finnish rural environment which is made to illustrate the interconnectedness of ideas, imagination and concrete reality. My practice is not limited to a single mode of expression. What brings all of the pieces together is the aim to interpret and combine the traditions and practices of Western and Eastern philosophy and art.
